ZK-YKV pops in

Yesterday Tim Gorman also caught another wonderful aircraft at Kapiti. Yakovlev Yak-55, ZK-YKV. This interesting visitor was on it's way to the South Island Akro Fest being held at Omaka over the weekend. It arrived direct from it's home base at Tauranga to pick up fuel.

I'm hoping to catch it on it's way back on Monday.

Air Chathams substitutes in Metroliner

Starting today Air Chathams are substituting in a Swearingen SA.227 Metroliner on the Kapiti route replacing the Saab 340. This is only on 3C640 and 3C647, arrival 1000 and departure 1100. As far as i can see this is a permanent change on the service. More than likely other changes to follow!

The first of these services was operated by ZK-CIC, which sports a special Whakatane livery.

Thanks to Tim Gorman for going out and getting these great shots!
