Foxpine 29-5-2022

Did a visit up to Foxpine for the monthly fly-in BBQ Lunch. A really sunny day with a bit of wind, was hoping for some good arrivals, especially with the big turnout at Omaka for the Cessna 180 anniversary heading home today.

But alas only 5 came in, which is better than none I suppose!

Here is what I saw anyway:

Private Jet visits Kapiti Airport 25-5-2022

A gorgeous sunny day on the Kapiti Coast and all that had to happen was something nice to visit Kapiti Airport for me to photo.

And this Cessna 510 Citation Mustang coming in did just the trick. ZK-LCA is on a New Zealand tiki tour and appears to be visiting almost every field with a sealed runway, having started from Hastings on Monday and heading to Auckland, Whangarei, Hamilton and Tauranga. Then Tuesday going on to Whakatane, Rotorua, Taupo, Gisborne and Napier. Then today doing New Plymouth, Whanganui, Palmerston North, Kapiti Coast and Wellington! Nice for some people.

I raced out to the airport after work and got there in time for its arrival and the sound of it downwind was incredible. Sadly where it taxied was unexpected, so got little photos of arrival. But got in the right place for the departure. I'll let the photos speak for themselves:

Slowed down and taxiing to gate 1 after arriving from Palmerston North

Parked up at gate 1

Backtracking 34 for departure to Wellington

Lined up and ready to go.

Absolute pleasure photographing this bird, been a while since i've photographed a Cessna 510 at Kapiti. Looking forward to the next one and all the best to the group on board!

Kapiti and Wellington visit 23-5-2022

A beautiful morning and the first visit of Qantas at Wellington after a fair few months, gave me the perfect excuse to go out spotting.

So firstly I did a quick stop at Kapiti to see what was around and got a couple of visitors:

Nelson Aviation College's Cessna 152 ZK-NAJ parked up after arriving from Motueka.

Bell 206L-4 Long Ranger IV ZK-HNY parked up on her way home to North Shore from a South island tiki tour.

Then I drove down to Wellington, sadly due to the Qantas aircraft being delayed and other commitments I had to leave before they arrived. But that didn't stop me getting a few pictures of the other movements whilst I was there:

ATR72-600 ZK-MVW arriving from Christchurch as NZ5326

Dash 8-300 ZK-NEW departing to Nelson as NZ8309

Cessna 208B ZK-SAA departing to Blenheim as S8629

Dash 8-300 ZK-NFB departing to Blenheim as NZ731L

Change of wind direction so a runway change...

Airbus A320 ZK-OXI departing to Auckland as NZ432

Airbus A320 ZK-OJS arriving from Auckland as NZ429

Airbus A320 ZK-OXK arriving from Queenstown as NZ604

So I moved to a new location to get better pictures...

ATR72-500 ZK-MCO departing to Chatham Islands as 3C521

Canterbury Aero Club's Piper PA-28 ZK-LJO lining up to head back home to Christchurch.

Dash 8-300 ZK-NFB arriving from Blenheim as NZ730L

Cessna 208B ZK-SAA arriving from Blenheim as S8268
