Hawera Brunch Fly-In 2024

 Today Hawera held their annual brunch fly-in to welcome in spring and daylight savings.

The weather was looking decent apart from strong winds, which did put off some people from coming up, but a good lot came in regardless.

Always nice to hear and see a radial engine come in

Don't see this one too often and it's from my neck of the woods!

I do like a good Bonanza and it's nice to see this one becoming a regular in the fly-in scene.

The one that came the furthest, this lovely looking RV from North Shore!

I then travelled up the road to the Beck Helicopter pad just outside of Eltham and was nice to see a couple of helicopters outside.


Lovely to see this huey outside.

Unsure why this jet ranger was here, but it was a new one for me, so i'll take it!

Because of the impending weather I decided to backtrack and head to Whanganui instead of continuing to the rest of the Taranaki airfields. The local academy was in full swing at Whanganui so was quite a bit going on, here is what I saw:

A great day out today, even if the wind did play up more arrivals for the fly-in. I look forward to the next event of Tiger Moths gathering in 3 weeks!
